Lifted Truck Experience

Lifted trucks are very popular with people who like the monster truck look. This is prevalently popular with young men but there is no age or gender limitations when it comes to lifted trucks. They are a lot of fun but can be expensive to accomplish. Before lifting your truck, be sure to check with local laws to determine if there are any restrictions on how high you can raise your truck. A professional who is experienced in lifting trucks will probably know what the legal limit is however it is best to also ensure this yourself before spending a money on lifting a truck only to find out that it is illegal.
Lifting a truck is not inexpensive either. While it is a great way to express your individuality you have to be able to afford it. Lifted trucks can be done at a body shop or mechanic who is skilled at doing this type of modification to a vehicle. They can be found by looking in a local telephone book or searching online for a location in your area.
You should also be an qualified driver to drive lifted trucks. Because they are so far off the ground, they can be hard to drive. Because the trucks is so heavy and is far off the ground, the angle of impact can do a lot of damage to the person who was hit. Lifted trucks have a higher risk of rollover, are more difficult to control, take longer to stop and have a bumper height that is level to the windows of many vehicles. This can be very dangerous and pose a hazard. When teenagers who have a aim to be a bit less safe drivers are behind the wheel of lifted trucks, this can be very dangerous.

4x4 Lifted Trucks

When you see 4x4 lifted trucks I bet your attention is running in that direction!
When fitting the larger tires and wheels it is almost always necessary to lift the truck. Also 4x4 lifted trucks are less subject to damage in situations like river crossing and rocky trails.
However keep in mind that the less you raise your truck the better you keep the original drivability and stability. Another issue to keep in mind is the local lift laws. Therefore lift your 4x4 truck as little as you can.
In my experience you have two main methods of making your truck one of the 4x4 lifted trucks.

  • Body lifts - If your truck is built on a frame it is a fairly simple matter to lift the body. The body is usually attached to the frame with about 12 bolts. You must then get some nylon or aluminum blocks and longer bolts!
  • Suspension lifts - Suspension lift kits are much more advanced. It is important for your truck to maintain as much of the original stability as possible.

This is a complex installation and I would recomend you hire a qualified professional mechanic to making your truck one of the 4x4 lifted trucks.

Lifted Trucks at Extreme Autofest

This was the last Extreme AutoFest of 2006 and it was amazed! The show once again had all the right components. An entire day of cars (moster trucks and big lifted trucks too), models, and the smell of burning rubber coming from the NHRA track was the perfect seal for the show season for EAF.
This show had flying motocross stunts, bikini contest, DJ battles, dancing, and of course, some of the hottest cars in the region. There was everything to see from Scions to Supras, low-riders to lifted trucks, and even a few exotics. Scion owners were even treated to the SCION V.I.P. experience within the show. This is something Scion has been doing at several major events this season which gives the owners a place to hang out, eat and get away from the crowd.
