4x4 Lifted Trucks

When you see 4x4 lifted trucks I bet your attention is running in that direction!
When fitting the larger tires and wheels it is almost always necessary to lift the truck. Also 4x4 lifted trucks are less subject to damage in situations like river crossing and rocky trails.
However keep in mind that the less you raise your truck the better you keep the original drivability and stability. Another issue to keep in mind is the local lift laws. Therefore lift your 4x4 truck as little as you can.
In my experience you have two main methods of making your truck one of the 4x4 lifted trucks.

  • Body lifts - If your truck is built on a frame it is a fairly simple matter to lift the body. The body is usually attached to the frame with about 12 bolts. You must then get some nylon or aluminum blocks and longer bolts!
  • Suspension lifts - Suspension lift kits are much more advanced. It is important for your truck to maintain as much of the original stability as possible.

This is a complex installation and I would recomend you hire a qualified professional mechanic to making your truck one of the 4x4 lifted trucks.
